The role of Food Stand Cashier with Sodexo at Illinois State University is a dynamic full-time position offering an hourly wage range of $15.00 to $17.00. This position is centered on supporting fast-paced, high-volume food service operations primarily within food court settings and event venues. The Food Stand Cashier is responsible for providing efficient, accurate transaction support while maintaining excellent customer service standards. This job specifically focuses on the operation of various food stand models—including traditional food stands, grab-and-go locations, self-service kiosks, and retail-style outlets—requiring adaptability to different service environments and technologies.

The ideal candidate will handle fluctuating customer demands, especially during peak event periods, ensuring a smooth guest flow and upholding Sodexo's standards for speed, safety, and compliance. Working in fast-moving live event settings calls for an individual who can stay calm under pressure, pay close attention to their surroundings, and maintain meticulous cash handling and security procedures.
