The Casino Cage Cashier role at Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino Hotel is a vital position responsible for accurately processing a wide range of financial transactions for both internal and external guests. This role demands a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a professional demeanor to maintain the trust and safety of casino assets. Employees in this role will handle critical cash operations including check cashing, debit and credit card cash advances, foreign currency exchanges, chip redemptions, and jackpot payouts. The position also involves preparing and managing necessary tax forms such as W-2G and 1042-S, ensuring compliance with all relevant financial and regulatory standards.

In addition to transaction processing, the Casino Cage Cashier plays a key role in maintaining the security and integrity of the casino’s financial operations. This includes completing transaction reports, adhering to Anti-Money Laundering policies, and monitoring compliance with Title 31 and IRS currency transaction reporting requirements. The role requires close coordination with various departments within the casino to support card game operations, handle banks, manage tips, and uphold company policies.

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, often requiring handling large volumes of cash under pressure. Successful candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The position requires physical stamina due to extended periods of standing and walking, and the ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Requirements

  • Must have high School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to pass a standardized testing requirement measuring proficiency in basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and ability to count various currencies of money accurately
  • Gaming industry experience preferred
  • Cash handling experience with large volumes of cash preferred
  • Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to commute to and from work
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a KTTT Gaming Commission License, including successful completion of background check necessary to obtain and maintain license
  • Must comply with KLEC handbook, internal policy and procedures, and gaming regulations set within KLEC
  • Must participate in tip reporting program

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Tribal, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations and Kickapoo Lucky Eagle policies and procedures
  • Ensure the highest possible standards of guest services by properly listening and responding to guest and team member concerns and questions
  • Responsible for transactions with guests, including but not limited to: check cashing, debit/credit card cash advances, exchange of foreign currency, chip redemption and exchanges, cash/issue vouchers, pay out jackpots and promotional winnings, and prepare tax forms (W-2G and 1042-S)
  • Responsible for transactions within the casino: card games fills and credits, issue and receive banks, disbursement and receipt of funds in accordance with policy
  • receive and record tips
  • Count window funds and process transactions accurately and maintain minimal variances
  • Organize supplies, clean counters/floors and maintain working areas clean at all times
  • Demonstrate and promote KLECH core values and MAD skills
  • Manage and maintain security of confidential information entrusted to position
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all required training as assigned
  • Monitor compliance with Federal currency transaction reporting requirements, Title 31 requirements and IRS Currency Transaction Reports and property established Anti-Money Laundering policies
  • Maintain accurate MTL, MIL, CTR and SAR as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
