The Cage Cashier position is a critical role within the Finance Department, specifically assigned to the Cage/Credit area which manages financial exchanges related to gaming activities. As a Cage Cashier, the incumbent will be tasked with safeguarding company assets by conducting precision balance audits of various bank drawers. The role demands consistent accuracy through all phases of the balancing process and a vigilant approach to protect the company’s monetary resources.

This full-time role requires the Cage Cashier to perform essential front-line financial transactions including cashing gaming chips and tokens for guests in a courteous and timely manner, as well as handling personal and traveler’s checks. The Cage Cashier must also competently redeem foreign currencies by computing and applying accurate exchange rates, enhancing the guest experience while maintaining regulatory compliance.

In addition to cash handling, the Cage Cashier processes marker buy-back transactions, redeems slot machine payout tickets and vouchers, and executes patron account transactions such as safe keeping and front money deposits or withdrawals. The role extends to check cashing, marker issuance and redemption, and the use of credit card and EFTPOS cash advances. It also involves specific operational functions such as performing rolling chip exchanges, balancing float amounts, preparing table fills, and managing chip transfers between windows and banks.

To thrive in this position, the Cage Cashier must maintain accurate, legible balance sheets and assume responsibility for vault functions, including custody of coin, currency, checks, and maintaining detailed transaction records throughout the shift. The Cage Cashier collaborates closely with the Cage Shift Manager to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and maintains strict confidentiality concerning internal activities.
