The Cage Cashier role at Caesars Entertainment in Elgin, IL, is a vital position that supports casino operations through managing cash transactions related to table game chips, marketing redemptions, ticket transactions, and other essential financial operations in the Cage and casino areas. This position requires significant guest interaction and demands strong attention to detail, integrity, and adherence to regulatory and company standards. The Cage Cashier is responsible for ensuring accuracy in cash handling processes, compliance with internal controls and federal reporting requirements, and maintaining daily banking activities. This role is on-site and offers a competitive hourly wage between $17.00 and $18.50, depending on experience, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus available for eligible hires with over two years of cashiering experience, paid in increments over the first year of employment.

In this role, the Cage Cashier must be adept at managing high-volume, fast-paced work environments while providing outstanding customer service consistent with Caesars’ Family Style Service Standards. Employees engage closely with guests and staff, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Additionally, candidates must be willing to work flexible shifts to meet operational demands and be at least 21 years old, as the position requires licensure by the Illinois Gaming Board.

Job Duties

  • Understand and adhere to Grand Victoria Casino and Cage & Credit Operations standards, policies and procedures
  • Obtain a strong understanding of the Internal Control Systems (ICS) and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS)
  • Ability to comply with and practice the Grand Victoria Casino’s Family Style Service Standards
  • Acquire and maintain strong knowledge of the Federal Cash Reporting Requirements required under Title 31
  • Transact exchanges
  • Process Table Fills and Table Credits to Table Games
  • Process Jackpots and Hopper Fills to Electronic Gaming Devices
  • Verify Cash turn-ins from operating departments
  • Verify various types of Cash pay-outs
  • Verify cashier’s banks
  • Prepare daily bank deposits on revenue, as needed
  • Perform all tasks that may be assigned in the future
