Job Requirements
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- 0-2 years of experience in food preparation or related field
- ability to acquire necessary food safety licenses by August 2026
- capacity to perform light physical work including lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for long durations

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- ideally two or three years of commercial or institutional experience in food preparation
- possession of or ability to acquire appropriate license(s), certificate(s), by August 2026 and/or endorsement(s) for position as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia
- light physical effort required
- may need to transport items weighing up to 40 pounds
- will be required to stand for extended periods of time
Job Duties
- Plan menus, order food supplies, cook lunch, and work with outside vendors
- responsible for the daily set up, safe operation, and breakdown of all kitchen and mechanical equipment, including ovens, mixers, and warmers
- oversee and participate in meal preparation, cooking and service of all menu items, including main courses, salads, soups, and desserts
- maintain sanitary conditions including washing pots, pans, kettles, and other cooking utensils
- keep records of student lunch orders and serve/distribute items accordingly
- maintain effective communication with school administration, faculty, and parents regarding cafeteria operations, daily schedules, and menu updates
- possesses a Food Manager License to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment and ensure all policies and procedures are followed
- perform other related duties as required/assigned
