Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cashier or customer service experience preferred
  • ability to learn and operate Point of Sale software
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of USDA meal reimbursement guidelines
  • commitment to adhering to health and safety standards
  • ability to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
  • reliable attendance
  • ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and repetitive motions
  • willingness to follow all school district policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role preferred
  • ability to demonstrate qualities aligned with core values of character, communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to learn and use new software systems
  • bilingual as required by location

Job Duties

  • Ensures that all actions align with Board policies and the district's strategic plan
  • participates in job training and professional growth opportunities
  • performs other related duties to ensure an efficient work environment
  • processes all transactions accurately and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
  • maintains accurate cash flow including counting drawers, providing change, and assisting with daily deposits
  • ensures meal reimbursements comply with USDA regulations
  • accommodates dietary modifications and food allergies using POS alerts
  • provides excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues
  • assists with service line setup and restocking during meal periods
  • aids in accurate daily production record counting
  • helps clean and sanitize service areas and dishes
  • adheres to Health Department food safety and sanitation standards
