Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be able to work nights
  • be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
  • have knowledge of cooking principles
  • have at least one year of cooking experience in a diverse environment
  • possess Food Safety Professionals certification or equivalent certification within 90 days of start date
  • be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • be able to read, write, and solve math problems
  • successfully complete Basic Office Skills Test before start date
  • be able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions
  • be able to stand for long periods
  • be able to bend, stoop, and twist
  • have ability to work well with others and be a team member
  • show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
  • show commitment to Publix’s mission
  • current Lakeland distribution associate preferred
  • have Food Safety Professionals certification and equivalent certification

Job Qualifications

  • at least one year of cooking experience in a restaurant, Publix cafeteria, or culinary school
  • Food Safety Professionals certification or equivalent certification within 90 days of start date
  • ability to read, write, and solve basic math problems
  • ability to interpret and follow instructions
  • good teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • preparing meals for Publix associates
  • cooking meals according to established standards
  • serving meals to associates
  • following food safety protocols
  • maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen
  • lifting items up to 50 pounds
  • working flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • collaborating with team members to ensure meal quality and timely service
