The Café Manager position at Urban Air Hudson Oaks is a hands-on leadership role critical to the success of the park’s dining operations. This role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both managing teams and being actively involved in day-to-day food preparation and service. As Café Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the Urban Air Café, from inventory management and staff training to maintaining cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring that the café operates smoothly, meets high standards of quality, and contributes positively to the overall guest experience.

The Café Manager will work closely with their team throughout the kitchen and service areas, preparing and serving food with urgency and friendliness. The role demands strong organizational skills to monitor deliveries, control inventory, minimize waste, and maintain a clear and well-organized workspace. Setting the example in punctuality, hygiene, and professionalism, the Café Manager will help foster a culture of accountability and pride among café staff.

Beyond managing operations, the Café Manager will handle guest concerns with care and professionalism, participate in staff meetings, and drive continuous improvements through training and staff development initiatives. Whether the day requires early starts, late finishes, or working weekends, adaptability and commitment to the Urban Air mission will be essential.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ previous F&B experience (quick service and/or restaurant experience)
  • 1-3 years’ management experience in the hospitality field preferred
  • Must have a current ServSafe or similar Food Handling Certification, or be willing to attain within the first 30 days of employment

Job Duties

  • Support the proper execution of all processes, systems and standards
  • Ensure all deliveries are received correctly and logged
  • Maintain effective inventory control, storage, and rotation to minimize wastage
  • Manage the Café Team, ensuring they always work to the expected standards
  • Adhere to scheduled shifts and is willing to stay beyond when business or circumstances dictate
  • Train Café staff in preparing the full menu and the front of house staff in preparing drinks and ready-to-eat foods to the consistently high standard required
  • Set a high standard and good example for Café staff regarding punctuality, attendance and attitude and ensure these standards are always maintained
  • Set a high standard and good example for Café staff regarding cleanliness and hygiene, including a regular deep clean schedule
  • Maintain a clear, well-organized and easy-to-access Café
  • Handle guest concerns regarding the Café
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and training as and when required
  • Other duties as tasked by General Manager
