This role serves as the first point of contact for our guests and plays a crucial part in setting the tone for their entire visit. As a Cafe Host, you will be responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing guest flow, handling reservations, and providing exemplary customer service to ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. Your ability to create a friendly and hospitable environment will greatly contribute to guest loyalty and satisfaction. This is a paid position offering $16.00 per hour and presents an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic food service setting. The role includes working in person and interacting directly with guests and team members. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- basic computer skills including familiarity with POS systems
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- friendly and outgoing personality
- ability to stand for extended periods
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Previous host/hostess experience in a restaurant or food service setting preferred
- strong communication skills
- experience in hospitality or hotel guest services is an advantage
- knowledge of restaurant operations and guest relations
- ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods
- positive attitude and enthusiasm for hospitality
Job Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival
- manage guest check-in and check-out processes using Toast POS systems
- handle reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements with excellent communication skills
- provide attentive customer service by answering questions about menu items, specials, and restaurant policies
- maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- coordinate with kitchen staff and servers to optimize guest experience and seating efficiency
- demonstrate professional phone etiquette for taking reservations and addressing inquiries
- support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously
