The role of a Café Team Member at Urban Air Pearland is vital for delivering an exceptional guest experience. This position requires a dedicated, energetic individual responsible for serving guests efficiently with food and drinks within the Urban Air Café. The Café Team Member will spend time both in the kitchen and the service area, handling tasks such as cashiering, interacting with guests, cooking, preparing, and serving food items. The role demands the ability to work quickly and with a strong sense of urgency without sacrificing the quality of guest service and care. This position offers an exciting opportunity for those enthusiastic about hospitality and customer service, providing a dynamic work environment with regular staff training and team collaboration.

On a daily basis, the Café Team Member will uphold the highest standards of guest relations, assisting guests at the counter with friendliness and professionalism, and offering guidance and recommendations on the menu to enhance the customer experience. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the café and surrounding areas is crucial, including clearing tables, washing dishes, and managing waste. The role also requires managing stock levels efficiently, ensuring food safety by proper cooking and storage, and adhering strictly to all health code regulations. The team member will actively promote upselling to maximize profit while providing a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business. This job is ideal for candidates who are self-motivated, able to multitask, communicate effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, energetic setting that values teamwork and discipline.

Job Requirements

  • Have a friendly and engaging personality and is a good written and verbal communicator
  • able to work under pressure
  • Comfortable working with members of the public, able to initiate conversations and provide a sincere welcome and enjoy providing good service
  • Willingness to learn, take instruction and work under own initiative, supporting other team members and able to multitask

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
  • Previous restaurant/quick service experience preferred
  • Basic math skills of adding and subtracting required
  • ServSafe or similar food handling certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate the highest standards of guest relations and care when assisting guests at the counter
  • Give advice, guidance and recommendations on products and menu selection to guests to ensure a positive experience and repeat business
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for the Cafe area
  • Manage queues and exceed guest expectations
  • upsell to maximize profit
  • Keep Cafe and surrounding areas tidy and clean
  • this includes, but is not limited to, table clearing, removing and washing dishes, and taking out the trash
  • Handle guest complaints in the first instance and report feedback to the Leadership Team
  • Work within established guidelines and operating procedures
  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
  • Properly cook and store food items at appropriate temperatures
  • Rotate stock items as per established procedure
  • Ensure compliance with all health code regulations
  • Maintain clear, well-organized kitchen and storage areas
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and training, as required
  • Other duties as tasked by Leadership
