The Café BoH/FOH Team Member role at Urban Air is integral to maintaining the vibrant and guest-focused atmosphere of the Urban Air Café. This position combines both back-of-house (BoH) and front-of-house (FoH) responsibilities, making it a versatile role ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with guests as well as working efficiently behind the scenes. Team members are expected to provide fast, attentive service by preparing and serving food and drinks, operating cash registers, interacting warmly with guests, and ensuring the café is clean and well-stocked. This role requires working with a sense of urgency while maintaining high standards of guest service and hygiene.
Individuals in this position will be responsible for assisting guests at the counter with the highest level of hospitality, offering knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, and managing queue flow to optimize guest satisfaction and maximize sales opportunities. They will also handle food preparation, including measuring and assembling ingredients, cooking items thoroughly, and adhering to proper food storage and health code regulations. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in both the café and kitchen areas is essential, as well as effectively rotating stock to ensure freshness.
Team members will often be the first point of contact for guest feedback, handling complaints courteously and escalating issues to leadership when necessary. Continuous participation in staff meetings, trainings, and development activities is expected to ensure consistent performance aligned with company standards. The ability to work well under pressure, multitask efficiently, and support team goals is crucial for success in this high-energy, fast-paced environment.

Job Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
- Previous restaurant/quick service experience preferred
- Basic math skills of adding and subtracting required
- ServSafe or similar food handling certification preferred
Job Duties
- Demonstrate the highest standards of guest relations and care when assisting guests at the counter
- Give advice, guidance and recommendations on products and menu selection to guests to ensure a positive experience and repeat business
- Ensure adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for the Café area
- Manage queues and exceed guest expectations
- upsell to maximize profit
- Keep Café and surrounding areas tidy and clean
- this includes, but is not limited to, table clearing, removing and washing dishes, and taking out the trash
- Handle guest complaints in the first instance and report feedback to the Leadership Team
- Work within established guidelines and operating procedures
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
- Properly cook and store food items at appropriate temperatures
- Rotate stock items as per established procedure
- Ensure compliance with all health code regulations
- Maintain clear, well-organized kitchen and storage areas
- Participate in regular staff meetings and training, as required
- Other duties as tasked by Leadership
