The Cafe BOH/FOH Team Member role at Urban Air involves a dynamic set of responsibilities that blend front-of-house guest service with back-of-house kitchen operations. This position is integral to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable food and beverage experience for guests visiting the Urban Air Cafe. Team members will alternate between the kitchen and service areas, demonstrating efficiency in preparing, cooking, and serving food items, as well as engaging with guests in a courteous and professional manner. Cashiering duties and managing guest interactions are also key elements of this role, requiring a fast-paced work ethic and a keen sense of urgency.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest service, contribute to a clean and organized work environment, and support the cafe team in maintaining high standards for food safety and operational excellence. Responsibilities include managing supplies and inventory, handling guest complaints constructively, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere through collaboration and attendance at training sessions and meetings. Working in a fast-paced, noisy environment demands the ability to multitask effectively while upholding the company’s standards for quality and service. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about food service, enjoy working with the public, and thrive in team-oriented settings. Job Qualifications

  • minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required
  • some college preferred
  • previous restaurant/quick service experience preferred
  • basic math skills of adding and subtracting required
  • serversafe or similar food handling certification preferred

Job Duties

  • demonstrate the highest standards of guest relations and care when assisting guests at the counter
  • give advice, guidance and recommendations on products and menu selection to guests to ensure a positive experience and repeat business
  • ensure adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for the cafe area
  • manage queues and exceed guest expectations
  • upsell to maximize profit
  • keep cafe and surrounding areas tidy and clean
  • handle guest complaints in the first instance and report feedback to the leadership team
