Urban Air Harlingen, a branch of this innovative company, is seeking Café BOH/FOH Team Members to join their fast-paced and vibrant team. These team members play a vital role in ensuring that guests have a pleasant and efficient experience when visiting the Urban Air Café. This position involves working both front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) in the café setting, preparing and serving food and beverages, handling customer interactions, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness in the café area. Employees in this role must be able to work quickly and effectively while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
The Café BOH/FOH Team Member acts as the face of the café, representing Urban Air’s commitment to guest satisfaction and quality. Responsibilities include welcoming guests, providing expert product recommendations, managing queues, upselling menu items, and ensuring that food preparation meets safety and quality guidelines. The role demands multitasking skills, a high attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. Employees must also adhere to health code regulations, maintain stock levels, and participate actively in team meetings and training sessions.
Candidates should possess a friendly and engaging personality with strong communication skills to interact comfortably with guests and team members. A willingness to learn, take instructions, and demonstrate initiative is key. Physical stamina is required since the job involves standing for long periods, working in noisy conditions, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds. Previous experience in quick service or restaurant settings is preferred, along with basic math skills and food handling certifications such as ServSafe.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
- Previous restaurant/quick service experience preferred
- Basic math skills of adding and subtracting required
- ServSafe or similar food handling certification preferred
Job Duties
- Demonstrate the highest standards of guest relations and care when assisting guests at the counter
- Give advice, guidance and recommendations on products and menu selection to guests to ensure a positive experience and repeat business
- Ensure adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for the Café area
- Manage queues and exceed guest expectations
- upsell to maximize profit
- Keep Café and surrounding areas tidy and clean
- this includes, but is not limited to, table clearing, removing and washing dishes, and taking out the trash
- Handle guest complaints in the first instance and report feedback to the Leadership Team
- Work within established guidelines and operating procedures
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
- Properly cook and store food items at appropriate temperatures
- Rotate stock items as per established procedure
- Ensure compliance with all health code regulations
- Maintain clear, well-organized kitchen and storage areas
- Participate in regular staff meetings and training, as required
- Other duties as tasked by Leadership
