The Café Aide position at Grow Academy is a part-time, hourly role that plays a critical part in maintaining the operations and cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas within the school environment. Job Requirements
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Serve Safe Food Handler's certification
- ability to stand, stoop, reach, and bend
- mobility of arms to reach
- dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate large and small objects
- ability to stand for long periods and walk long distances
- ability to lift, push and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds assisted
- ability to read small print
- ability to work with and near equipment with moving mechanical parts
- ability to work around loud noise
- demonstrated skill and experience in food preparation and serving

Job Duties
- Washes dishes
- cleans and scrubs pots and pans
- cleans and sets up trays
- empties trash, recycling, and compost daily
- sweeps and mops floors in kitchen and dining area
- maintains clean serving areas and sets up cafeteria for timely service
- sets up tray line by arranging food
- assists the chef in the preparation of meals as needed
- peels, slices, cores, and dices vegetables and fruits by hand or using mechanical equipment
- pours salad dressings and condiments
- assists in stocking shelves, receiving and storing orders
- properly packs, labels, and stores leftover food
- follows state and federal regulations regarding food handling, serving, and cleanliness
- serves meals throughout lunch period
