Job Description

Austin Country Club, established in 1899, is one of the oldest and most prestigious private clubs in Texas. Nestled along the scenic banks of the Colorado River, with the iconic Pennybacker Bridge as a backdrop, this family-oriented club is steeped in tradition and committed to delivering exceptional service and unforgettable experiences. Located just 10 miles west of downtown Austin, the club spans over 180 acres of breathtaking hill country terrain and canyon views in the Davenport Ranch area. Known for its rich history and commitment to excellence, Austin Country Club proudly honors the legacy of Harvey Penick, one of the greatest golf instructors who ever lived, and maintains a strong focus on quality, community, and member satisfaction.

The club is dedicated to fostering a supportive, collaborative, and fast-paced work environment where team members can thrive and develop professionally. Employees at Austin Country Club benefit from a flexible schedule, competitive wages, and numerous perks designed to promote well-being and job satisfaction. The Cabana Pool Waiter / Waitress position is a vital member of the hospitality team, delivering premium food and beverage services to guests enjoying the club’s poolside amenities. This role can be full-time or part-time, offering a competitive wage of $20 per hour plus service charges.

As a Cabana Pool Waiter / Waitress, you play an essential role in creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for the club’s members and their guests. Your responsibilities encompass assisting with the daily setup and breakdown of dining areas, skillfully taking and delivering orders, and maintaining a strong knowledge of menu items to answer questions about ingredients and preparation methods. This position requires excellent communication, a professional demeanor, organization skills, and the ability to thrive under fast-paced conditions.

In addition to serving guests poolside, you will help ensure that all financial transactions are handled accurately, including proper member checkouts and preparation of server check-out reports. Maintaining cleanliness and compliance with safety and sanitation standards is also a key aspect of your duties. When issues arise, you promptly communicate with management to ensure quick resolution, contributing positively to the overall guest experience. Participation in staff meetings and ongoing training is expected to stay informed about club updates and maintain high service standards.

Austin Country Club values a team-oriented approach and expects its Cabana Pool Waiter / Waitress to be personable, communicative, and professional at all times. The role demands flexibility, as shifts may include weekdays, weekends, holidays, and potentially split shifts, aligning with the club’s operational needs. The position is ideal for those who enjoy engaging with people, providing excellent service, and being part of a respected and historic institution in the Austin area.

Employees working full-time in this role enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with up to a 4% company match after one year. Additional benefits for the hospitality team include paid holidays, uniforms, referral bonuses, free meals during shifts, and access to wellness programs. Austin Country Club’s commitment to employee satisfaction and growth makes this an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking rewarding work in a beautiful and prestigious setting.
