Job Description

Allen Brothers is a renowned and elite brand with over 130 years of excellence in sourcing and delivering the highest quality meat products. Established in 1893, the company has built an unmatched reputation for quality, craftsmanship, and service in the premium meat industry. Allen Brothers prides itself on consistent quality through responsible and strategic sourcing, ensuring that only the best products reach its customers. The company employs master butchers who hand-cut each piece of consistently aged meat to perfection, embodying a tradition of craftsmanship that has been upheld for generations.

As part of The Chefs' Warehouse & Allen Brothers, the mission focuses on providing the world's greatest ingredients to the world's best chefs. This commitment extends through a dynamic and experienced network of sales associates, best-in-breed technology, rapid service, and robust support levels, which all work together to foster strong relationships with both established and emerging premium restaurants across the country.

The role of Butcher at Allen Brothers is a critical position within this rapidly growing organization. Butchers contribute directly to the company’s success by preparing specialty cuts of meat efficiently and meticulously to meet and exceed customer expectations. The position demands precision, speed, and attention to detail to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction. Working closely with production teams, the butcher handles products from selection based on pick tickets through cutting to meet exact customer specifications, and finally to packaging and stock replenishment.

Butchers are responsible not only for the physical preparation of the meat but also for maintaining the integrity and safety of the product throughout the process. This includes adhering strictly to federal, state, and local guidelines such as HACCP, OSHA, and GMP standards, ensuring a clean and orderly work area, and promptly reporting any product damage. The position also requires following company policies and procedures diligently.

The ideal candidate for the butcher position will have at least a high school diploma or GED and prior experience in a food processing environment, although one year or more of relevant work experience is preferred. The butcher should demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality, and a willingness to take direction to achieve the company's high standards. Being supportive of peers and embodying the company’s C.H.E.F.S. values—curious and creative, hungry for food and results, entrepreneurial, forward-thinking and flexible, and supportive—are essential traits for thriving in this role.

Allen Brothers offers a competitive package of employee perks and benefits designed to support the well-being and satisfaction of its workforce. Employees can enjoy paid vacations, paid holidays, comprehensive health, dental, and medical benefits, life insurance, and participate in a 401(k) plan and employee stock purchase program. The company also provides employee discounts on travel and events, as well as special pricing above cost for high-quality food products. Pay is delivered weekly to offer convenience and financial stability to employees.

Allen Brothers is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce. The company does not discriminate against applicants based on any protected characteristic and considers qualified applicants with criminal histories in compliance with applicable laws. This dedication to diversity and inclusion extends across all phases of employment, including recruitment, hiring, placement, promotion, training, and compensation.
