Job Description
Red Lobster is a renowned family-owned seafood restaurant chain with a rich heritage spanning over fifty years. Known for its dedication to connecting people with the freshest seafood and coastal dining experiences, Red Lobster has grown to encompass over 500 restaurants nationwide. Each location reflects the founding passion of delivering exceptional meals and memorable moments to guests, making it more than just a dining spot but a vibrant community hub where new friends become familiar faces.
As a leader in the casual dining industry, Red Lobster provides a dynamic and welcoming work environment where employees are valued and given opportunities to advance their careers. The company places a strong emphasis on fostering a supportive workplace culture, offering competitive wages, weekly pay, and flexible scheduling to meet the diverse needs of its team members. Employees can also benefit from comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans starting at less than $10 per week, along with life insurance, short-term disability, and additional voluntary benefits. The 401(k) retirement savings plan includes a company match after one year of service, rewarding employees for their commitment. Other perks include anniversary pay for eligible employees, discounted shift meals, and a 25% discount when dining as a guest.
The role of a Busser/Runner at Red Lobster is integral to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for guests. This position involves a variety of tasks focused on maintaining clean and hospitable dining areas, supporting servers, and promptly delivering food to tables. As a Busser/Runner, you will welcome guests with a warm smile, set up your station efficiently for each shift, and ensure all tables are appropriately stocked with silverware and condiments.
Key responsibilities also include refilling drinks, pre-bussing tables to keep the dining area tidy, and running hot food to guests promptly as it is prepared. You will assist servers as needed, always adhering to food safety and cleanliness standards to maintain the high quality that Red Lobster is known for. Clearing dishes, resetting tables, and cleaning seating areas and floors are essential duties that contribute to a seamless operation. Communicating table readiness to servers and breaking down items in the dish area are also part of your daily tasks.
Success in this role requires physical stamina and agility, as it involves bending, reaching, stooping, lifting up to 30 pounds safely, and standing for extended periods typically ranging from 8 to 12 hours. Being a team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively are crucial traits. Additionally, Red Lobster is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all employees feel welcomed and respected regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status.
Joining Red Lobster means becoming part of a future-focused company that values its employees and strives to offer career growth and development opportunities. The company is excited about its ongoing plans and enhancements, making it an excellent time to become a member of the Red Lobster family and build a rewarding career in the hospitality industry.
