Job Description
Red Lobster is a renowned restaurant chain with a deep-rooted history that began over fifty years ago. Starting as a family-owned establishment, its founding vision was to offer people something special: a connection with seafood and the coast. Today, Red Lobster operates more than 500 restaurants, each one reflecting the passion and dedication that started it all. The company prides itself on being more than just a place to eat or work; it is a part of the communities it serves. Every seat in a Red Lobster restaurant extends an invitation to enjoy favorite meals and create special moments, where new friends become familiar faces. The welcoming environment and commitment to quality service set Red Lobster apart as a leader in the casual dining seafood industry.
The role of Busser/Runner at Red Lobster is a key position that supports the overall dining experience by ensuring efficiency and cleanliness. This part-time position involves a range of responsibilities focused on customer service, teamwork, and maintaining the restaurant’s standards. Employees in this role contribute significantly to the smooth operation and positive atmosphere of the restaurant. Red Lobster offers competitive pay on a weekly basis, flexible schedules, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance options starting at less than $10 per week, life and short-term disability insurance, and voluntary benefits. Additionally, after one year of service, employees are eligible for a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company contributions. The company also provides anniversary pay for eligible team members, discounted meals during shifts, and a 25% guest dining discount. Employees can expect ample opportunities for growth and career advancement through ongoing training and development programs.
As a Busser/Runner, your responsibilities will include greeting customers with a smile, preparing your station for shift work, ensuring that tables are adequately set with utensils and condiments, refilling drinks, clearing used plates and glassware, delivering hot food to customers in the hallway when ready, assisting servers as needed, complying with food safety and cleanliness standards, clearing and resetting tables, cleaning seats and floors, communicating table availability, and sorting items in the dishwashing area. The role demands physical stamina such as bending, reaching, stooping, and safely lifting up to 30 pounds, as well as the ability to stand for shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours. Teamwork, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities are crucial for success in this position. Red Lobster is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
The company embraces diversity and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. No discrimination is tolerated based on age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status. Red Lobster has ambitious plans for the future and is excited to welcome new team members to join the family at this exciting time. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals seeking part-time employment in a supportive and dynamic work environment with growth potential.
