Job Description
Red Lobster is a well-established seafood restaurant chain founded over fifty years ago with a passion for offering customers a unique connection to seafood and coastal dining. Starting as a family-owned restaurant, Red Lobster has grown into a family of more than 500 restaurants nationwide. Each location serves as an extension of their founding passion, proudly offering favorite meals and memorable moments for guests. The company is deeply rooted in the communities it serves, fostering an environment where new friends become familiar faces. Red Lobster is more than just a place to eat or work; it is a welcoming community committed to quality food and exceptional customer service.
The position offered is that of a Busser/Runner, a crucial role within Red Lobster's restaurant team. This is a full-time employment opportunity that comes with competitive pay and weekly payment, along with flexible schedules to accommodate the needs of employees. Red Lobster not only prioritizes work-life balance but also offers insurance options including medical, dental, and vision plans starting at less than $10 per week. Additional benefits include life insurance, short-term disability coverage, voluntary benefits, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company contributions after one year of service. Employees are also eligible for anniversary pay and discounted meals during shifts as well as 25% off when dining as guests.
As a Busser/Runner, your primary responsibility is helping to ensure the smooth functioning of the restaurant by providing excellent customer service and supporting the waitstaff. This includes greeting every guest with a smile, preparing your station for each shift, and making sure tables are set with all necessary cutlery and condiments. You will be responsible for refilling drinks, clearing used dishes and glassware, and delivering hot food to customers when ready. This role also requires assisting servers with customers as needed and following all food safety and cleanliness protocols. Key duties further involve clearing tables, resetting them, and cleaning seats and floors to maintain a tidy dining environment. You will also communicate table availability effectively and help separate items in the dishwashing area.
Physical requirements for success in this role include the ability to bend, reach, squat, and safely lift up to 30 pounds. The position demands standing for 8 to 12 hour shifts, emphasizing the importance of stamina and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential for managing the pace of a busy restaurant environment. Reasonable accommodations are made available for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Working at Red Lobster offers an excellent opportunity to grow your career within a company that values its employees and is focused on creating a great working experience. The company is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, providing a welcoming workplace for all individuals regardless of age, race, gender identity, religion, disability, or veteran status. There are exciting plans ahead for Red Lobster, making it a fantastic time to join the team and become part of the extended family.
