Job Description
Red Lobster is a well-established and beloved family-owned restaurant brand with over fifty years of experience in delivering exceptional seafood dining experiences. Founded with a vision to connect people to seafood and the coastal lifestyle, Red Lobster has grown to over 500 locations across the country, becoming more than just a place to eat. It serves as a community hub where guests can enjoy favorite meals, special moments, and create lasting memories with family and friends. The restaurant prides itself on its warm, welcoming atmosphere and commitment to quality service, making every seat at the table a part of its extended family.
Working at Red Lobster means joining a team that values its employees and offers a work environment focused on training, career growth, and opportunities for advancement. The company is committed to providing competitive wages with weekly pay, flexible scheduling to accommodate individual needs, and comprehensive benefits starting at an affordable rate of less than $10 per week for medical, dental, and vision coverage. In addition, employees have access to life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary benefits, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a company match after one year of service. Anniversary pay is also offered, rewarding tenure and loyalty. Discounts on shift meals and dining as a guest exemplify the company’s dedication to making their staff feel valued and part of the Red Lobster family.
The role of Busser/Runner at Red Lobster is key to maintaining the smooth operation of the restaurant and ensuring an excellent guest experience. This position involves a combination of front-of-house duties that support servers and maintain the cleanliness and order of the dining area. As a Busser/Runner, you will be the first friendly face greeting guests as they arrive, setting up your station for the shift, and ensuring tables are properly equipped with silverware and condiments. Keeping drinks refilled, pre-bussing tables, and efficiently running hot food to guests quickly keeps the flow of service uninterrupted.
This role requires a strong team player mindset and excellent attention to detail to help the server team deliver the best possible service. Key duties also include clearing dishes from tables promptly, resetting tables for the next guests, cleaning seats and floors, and communicating table readiness clearly to the rest of the team. You will also assist in breaking down items in the dish area, maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards throughout your shift.
Physically, the role demands stamina and mobility, as you will be required to stand and move around the restaurant for shifts that can last between 8 to 12 hours. The job involves lifting items up to 30 pounds safely and performing tasks that require bending, reaching, and stooping. Red Lobster is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities while ensuring all employees can perform the essential functions of their roles.
Joining Red Lobster means being part of an exciting future with big plans on the horizon. The company embraces diversity and inclusivity, proudly being an equal opportunity employer that offers a welcoming workplace free from discrimination based on age, race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status. If you are enthusiastic about delivering outstanding guest service and want to grow your career in a supportive and dynamic environment, Red Lobster provides the perfect opportunity to become part of a family that values your contribution and invests in your potential.
