The role of Busser/Runner at Red Lobster is a vital position designed to ensure an exceptional dining experience by maintaining cleanliness, readiness, and efficient service in the restaurant. This is a dynamic position that requires a proactive team player who can support servers and kitchen staff alike. The role involves a variety of tasks including preparing the station for shifts, setting tables appropriately, promptly clearing used dishes and glassware, refilling drinks, and delivering hot food to customers in a timely manner. The Busser/Runner plays an essential role in maintaining safety and hygiene standards by adhering strictly to food safety and cleanliness policies. This position also demands good communication skills to inform the team about table availability and to assist in coordinating service flow.

Job Requirements

  • Must meet minimum age requirement and be authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and safely carry up to 30 pounds
  • Capacity to remain standing for an 8 to 12-hour shift
  • Ability to work in a team environment with attention to detail and multitasking ability

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred
  • Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive attitude and friendly demeanor
  • Basic food safety knowledge
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Greet each guest in the restaurant with a smile
  • Prepare the station for the shift
  • Ensure silverware and condiments are set on the table
  • Refill drinks and remove used plates and glassware
  • Deliver hot food to guests when ready in the passageway
  • Provide assistance to servers with guests as needed
  • Follow all food safety and cleanliness standards
  • Clear plates from tables, reset tables, and clean seats and floors
  • Communicate table availability
  • Sort items in the dishwashing area
