Job Description
Red Lobster is a renowned seafood restaurant chain with a rich heritage rooted in family ownership and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Established over fifty years ago, Red Lobster has grown into a beloved brand with more than 500 restaurant locations across the country. The company is deeply committed to providing guests with a connection to the sea through high-quality seafood and a welcoming atmosphere. As part of its core values, Red Lobster emphasizes community involvement, recognizing that its restaurants are more than just places to eat—they are places where new relationships form and familiar faces come together. This commitment to excellence and community is reflected in the company culture, which values inclusivity, equality, and career growth for its team members.
The role being advertised is that of a Busser/Runner, an essential position within Red Lobster that supports the restaurant’s smooth operation and enhances guest satisfaction. This is a full-time, hourly position that offers competitive wages with weekly pay, making it an attractive opportunity for those seeking reliable employment in the hospitality industry. The company provides flexible scheduling options, acknowledging the diverse needs of its employees. In addition to a competitive wage, Red Lobster offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance starting at less than $10 per week, life insurance, short-term disability, and voluntary benefits. Employees also have access to a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching after one year of service, anniversary pay for eligible employees, and discounted shift meals along with a 25 percent discount when dining as a guest.
As a Busser/Runner at Red Lobster, employees play a critical role in ensuring that every guest has a memorable dining experience. Responsibilities include welcoming guests with friendliness and professionalism, setting up stations ahead of shifts, and ensuring all tables are properly set with silverware and condiments. Bussers and Runners assist servers by refilling drinks, pre-bussing tables to maintain a clean environment, running hot food from the kitchen to guests efficiently, and supporting guests and servers as needed. Maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards are also key aspects of the role. This includes clearing dishes, resetting tables, cleaning seats and floors, and efficiently communicating table status to ensure quick turnover. Additional duties may include breaking down items in the dish area to aid in overall restaurant cleanliness and workflow.
The position requires individuals who are physically capable of meeting the demands of the job, which include standing for extended periods during an 8 to 12 hour shift, bending, reaching, stooping, and safely lifting up to 30 pounds. Being a team player with strong attention to detail and multitasking skills is crucial to succeeding in this role. Red Lobster is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive work environment for all.
Joining Red Lobster means becoming part of a family that values growth and development. The company actively fosters career progression by training and offering opportunities to advance within the organization. With exciting plans on the horizon, there is a strong emphasis on innovation and improvement, making it a thrilling time to join the team. Red Lobster proudly maintains an inclusive workplace where equal employment opportunities are afforded to all without discrimination based on age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status. This initiative reinforces the company’s dedication to nurturing a diverse and welcoming workplace culture.
