Job Description
Red Lobster is a well-established and beloved seafood restaurant chain, known for its friendly atmosphere, quality dishes, and commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience. Founded over fifty years ago as a single family-owned restaurant, Red Lobster has grown into a family of more than 500 restaurants spread across various locations. The company prides itself not only on its iconic seafood menu but also on building meaningful relationships within the communities it serves. This commitment transforms every restaurant into more than just a place to eat and work; it becomes a hub where guests and associates alike feel welcomed and valued. Red Lobster emphasizes the importance of family and community, creating an environment where new friends quickly become familiar faces.
The role of a Busser/Runner at Red Lobster is essential to the smooth operation of the restaurant and the satisfaction of its guests. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment and who enjoy being part of a team dedicated to excellent service. The Busser/Runner is responsible for welcoming guests with a smile, maintaining cleanliness and setting up the dining area for shifts, replenishing drinks, and promptly delivering hot food to guests. They assist servers by supporting guest needs and ensuring the dining area meets high food safety and cleanliness standards.
Red Lobster offers competitive wages ranging from $17.00 to $25.00 per hour, with weekly pay to support financial stability. The company promotes a healthy work-life balance through flexible scheduling options, making this role suitable for a variety of lifestyles. Employees have access to affordable medical, dental, and vision insurance starting at less than $10 per week, as well as life insurance, short-term disability insurance, and other voluntary benefits. A 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching becomes available after one year of service, encouraging long-term financial planning.
Further employee perks include anniversary pay for eligible employees and a 25% discount on meals when dining as a guest, along with discounted shift meals. Red Lobster fosters a culture of growth and development by providing training and career advancement opportunities, making this more than just an entry-level job—it’s a chance to build a career in the hospitality industry. The role also requires physical stamina, as busser/runners must be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 30 pounds safely, and remain standing for shifts that last 8 to 12 hours.
At Red Lobster, equal opportunity employment is a core value. The company is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that welcomes applicants regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status. With exciting growth and future plans underway, joining Red Lobster means becoming part of a passionate and supportive team that is focused on delivering memorable guest experiences while building a promising career.
