Job Description
Red Lobster is a renowned family-owned seafood restaurant chain with a legacy spanning over fifty years. Originating from a humble beginning with a singular vision to connect people with seafood and coastal flavors, Red Lobster has blossomed into a beloved dining destination with over 500 restaurants across various communities. This extensive network of locations is more than a collection of eateries; it represents a commitment to quality, hospitality, and community connection. The company has cultivated a warm and welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy their favorite meals and create lasting memories. Red Lobster’s reputation is grounded in its dedication to exceptional service, fresh ingredients, and a menu that celebrates the bounty of the ocean.
Working at Red Lobster means joining a team that values its employees and offers numerous benefits and opportunities for growth. Employees enjoy competitive wages, weekly pay, and flexible scheduling options that support work-life balance. The company also provides access to medical, dental, and vision insurance plans starting at an affordable rate, plus life insurance, short-term disability, and voluntary benefits that broaden the safety net. A 401(k) retirement plan with company matching after one year of service encourages long-term financial planning. Additional perks include anniversary pay to reward loyalty, discounted meals during shifts, and a 25% discount when dining as a guest. Red Lobster's investment in employee development means that new team members can look forward to training programs and career advancement opportunities within the company.
The role of Busser/Runner at Red Lobster is pivotal in ensuring an outstanding dining experience for every guest. This position requires a hardworking, motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to providing excellent customer service. As a Busser/Runner, you will be the welcoming face that greets guests with a smile, setting a positive tone from the moment they enter. Your responsibilities extend to preparing your station for each shift by setting tables with clean silverware and condiments, refilling drinks, and pre-bussing tables to maintain a clean and inviting dining area.
In addition to these essential duties, Busser/Runners also assist servers by running hot food to guests promptly, ensuring meals arrive at the perfect temperature and contribute to a smooth service flow. Maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards is critical to the role, alongside tasks like clearing tables, resetting them for new guests, and cleaning seats and floors to uphold the restaurant’s high hygiene expectations. Communication skills are vital, as you will coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to signal table readiness and manage dish area breakdowns efficiently.
Physically, the job demands the ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 30 pounds safely, and remain on your feet throughout shifts that typically last between 8 to 12 hours. Red Lobster embraces inclusivity and encourages individuals with disabilities to apply, offering reasonable accommodations to meet essential job functions. The company proudly identifies as an equal opportunity employer, fostering a workplace where diversity and respect are deeply valued.
Red Lobster is currently offering this opportunity with an hourly wage ranging from USD $15.00 to USD $25.00, reflecting the experience and commitment you bring to the team. If you are enthusiastic about delivering excellent service, working collaboratively, and growing within a supportive and dynamic environment, becoming a Busser/Runner at Red Lobster could be your next career step. With big plans for the future and a strong foundation of community and quality, Red Lobster continues to be a leader in the casual dining seafood sector, making this a great moment to join the family and contribute to its ongoing success.
