The role of a Busser is integral to the smooth operation of the dining area. As a Busser, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, supporting servers, and ensuring that guests receive prompt and attentive service throughout their visit. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work efficiently in a team setting while maintaining a friendly demeanor with guests. Your duties will include clearing and resetting tables quickly to prepare for new guests, assisting in dishwashing tasks to keep utensils and tableware clean and ready, and maintaining cleanliness of floors, counters, and equipment according to health and safety standards. Bussers also support servers with tasks such as refilling beverages and delivering food orders, ensuring a seamless dining experience. You will collaborate closely with hosts and other staff members to support overall restaurant operations and guest satisfaction. A strong knowledge of the menu is expected to provide accurate information and helpful recommendations to guests. Additionally, the role demands adherence to company policies and health regulations to promote a safe work environment. Job Requirements
- must be at least sixteen years old
- ability to stand for extended periods and lift at least 15 pounds
- ability to bend, stoop, and reach during tasks
- willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- valid food handlers certification
- strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- ability to learn restaurant POS software such as Aloha, Hot Schedule, and Paylocity
- excellent communication skills
- attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness
- team player willing to support colleagues
Job Qualifications
- must be at least sixteen years old
- previous experience as a busser or similar role preferred but not required
- strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- excellent verbal communication skills
- ability to learn cash register software such as Aloha, Hot Schedule, Paylocity
- keen attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
- demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team
- adaptability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- valid food handlers certification
Job Duties
- clearing and resetting tables promptly and efficiently
- assisting in dishwashing duties including sorting and stacking
- maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of work areas including floors, counters, and equipment
- supporting servers by refilling beverages and delivering food orders
- collaborating and communicating effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations
- providing friendly and attentive guest interactions including responding to inquiries and special requests
- assisting in stocking supplies such as napkins, condiments, and utensils
- supporting other team members including servers and hosts as needed
