Job Description
Agawam Hunt, located in Rumford, Rhode Island, is a prestigious USGA Member Club founded in 1897. Renowned for being one of the original 25 USGA Member Clubs, this family-friendly, year-round club offers a welcoming community environment alongside some of the finest recreational amenities in New England. Members and guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience through the club's premier Food & Beverage program, which complements the beautifully maintained 18-hole Donald Ross-designed golf course. Beyond golf, the club provides a variety of sports and fitness facilities including indoor and outdoor tennis courts, pickleball, platform tennis, squash courts, and swimming pools. These amenities serve families and individuals seeking both recreational enjoyment and social engagement within a close-knit community.
The position of Busser at Agawam Hunt plays a vital role in maintaining the club's high standards of hospitality. As a key member of the Food & Beverage team, the Busser ensures smooth operations in both dining and event environments by preparing dining areas, maintaining cleanliness throughout service, and providing attentive support to servers and guests. This role is essential to creating a polished and professional atmosphere where guests can enjoy seamless and memorable dining experiences. The Busser is responsible for setting up tables according to floor plans, polishing glassware and cutlery, stocking side stations, and assisting in the setup and breakdown of special events and private functions.
During service periods, the Busser maintains constant floor presence and responsiveness, promptly clearing and resetting tables to sustain the flow of service. Additional duties include refilling water and bread service, supporting servers with food running and condiment delivery, and maintaining dining room cleanliness. Communication with the service team is critical to coordinate timing and ensure efficient operations. After service, the Busser supports cleanup and reset efforts, helps restock supplies, and assists with event turnovers, contributing to the overall excellence and smooth management of dining and event services.
This role requires candidates to have excellent communication and teamwork abilities, a strong sense of organization and professionalism, and the physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds. Previous restaurant or event service experience is preferred but not mandatory, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals seeking to grow their skills in a high-quality hospitality setting. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary to meet the demands of the club’s service schedule. Overall, this position offers the chance to be part of a distinguished private club known for its rich history, community atmosphere, and commitment to exceptional guest service.
