The Food and Beverage Busser role at Westin Solea Carlsbad Resort & Spa is essential to maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of the resort's dining outlets. This position focuses on providing friendly, courteous, and efficient quality presentation of food and beverage services to all guests. Bussers play an important part in creating a positive guest experience by ensuring tables are clean, properly set, and promptly reset between guests. They greet guests warmly and assist with beverages and other dining-related needs, contributing significantly to customer satisfaction.

This full-time position requires dedication to cleanliness, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment typical of the hospitality industry. Employees in this role support the overall dining experience by performing side duties such as stacking trays for stewarding, setting up stations, and maintaining an adequate supply of folded napkins for meal periods. Additionally, bussers are expected to adhere strictly to health and safety standards by performing general cleaning tasks that ensure a safe and sanitary environment.

This role demands good communication skills, the ability to work in varying temperature conditions, and physical endurance to handle prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment and trays. Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year experience in food and beverage
  • Possession of current food handlers card
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the primary workplace language
  • Physical ability to stand for up to four hours and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work varying schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to regular attendance and adherence to company standards
  • Compliance with all hotel rules and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • One plus years experience in food and beverage
  • Experience in bussing at a restaurant of similar size and quality preferred
  • Current food handlers card
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Basic computational ability
  • Ability to speak and understand the workplace language
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Clean, set and re-set tables continuously, assuming responsibility for station, tables and side duties
  • Serve water, coffee, beverages, and greet guests by name whenever possible during meal service
  • Stack trays properly for efficient unloading for stewarding and ensure safety standards
  • Perform set up duties including side stations, storage areas and food staging area
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards
  • Fold napkins for meal periods to maintain adequate supply
  • Perform other duties such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests
