The company has consistently been named one of the Top Companies to Work for in Washington by Seattle Business Magazine and Puget Sound Business Journal due to its commitment to fostering a fun, dynamic, and nurturing work environment for its team members. Columbia Hospitality operates with core values that emphasize accountability, creativity, enthusiasm, honesty, inclusion, and respect, focusing on the well-being and growth of its employees within a supportive culture.
The SOMM Hotel and Spa, located in Woodinville, Washington, is a premier luxury hotel managed by Columbia Hospitality. Situated in a scenic 20-acre master-planned development known as Harvest, The SOMM Hotel and Spa serves as a destination for upscale accommodations and amenities that blend seamlessly with the Pacific Northwest’s natural beauty. This new 164-room luxury hotel features a signature restaurant, rooftop bar, extensive meeting spaces totaling 10,000 square feet, and a lavish 5,661-square-foot spa. The property also includes 9,000 square feet of retail space, incorporating wine-tasting rooms, additional dining establishments, and other attractions. Beyond the hotel amenities, the development features a town square style with apartments, townhouses, and nearly 100,000 square feet of restaurants, bars, and recreational opportunities, making it a comprehensive destination for both locals and visitors alike.
The Busser role at The Shed, the restaurant within The SOMM Hotel and Spa, is vital to the seamless operation of the dining experience. This is a part-time position offering an hourly pay rate of $17.32, plus eligibility for tips and tip pooling. Employees in this role benefit from many perks including daily pay options, paid time off and holiday pay, discounted lodging, dining, spa, golf, and retail, as well as employee assistance programs and a culture that values fresh perspectives and inclusion.
Busser responsibilities focus on maintaining a clean and inviting dining environment, ensuring quick table turnovers and supporting the front-of-house team with a variety of tasks. A Busser’s duties include breaking down and resetting tables, cleaning and organizing the restaurant space, restocking necessary items, and assisting guests to provide a smooth and hospitable experience. High energy, excellent customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to transport up to 30 pounds and remain active throughout the shift. Weekend availability is necessary, reflecting the hospitality industry's demands. Columbia Hospitality promotes a people-first, values-driven workplace where employees are encouraged to grow, contribute, and participate actively in company-sponsored wellness and volunteer programs. They foster a welcoming work environment with strong support networks to ensure that team members feel valued and respected every day, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and customer service to thrive and advance in their career.
