The Busser position at Virgin Hotels is crucial to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for all guests. This role focuses on swiftly and efficiently clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables according to established protocols and sanitation guidelines, making tables ready for prompt use. The successful candidate must adhere to Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) regulations and internal standards while working closely with both the back-of-house and front-of-house staff to maintain seamless service. This role demands physical stamina to perform duties that include lifting, balancing plates, carrying supplies, and standing for extended periods. Additionally, Bussers are required to have a current SNHD Food Handler card and follow all health and safety protocols meticulously to contribute to successful health inspections and uphold Virgin Hotels' commitment to safety and excellence.

Job Requirements

  • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • high school education or equivalent
  • a minimum of two months of on-the-job training or related experience
  • food service handler card and TABC certification that is current and valid for a minimum of at least 6 months
  • ability to work a flexible schedule

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • a team player with good communication skills
  • patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure

Job Duties

  • Ensure that items are fully stocked and equipment is in good working condition
  • strong knowledge and consistent use of SNHD regulations and standards
  • work cooperatively and effectively in a team
  • consistently maintain clean and safe work area for self and other team members
  • participate in seamless operation between back-of-house and front-of-house staff ensuring proper service to guests
  • perform to high standards of excellence, execution, and cleanliness
  • always keep active SNHD Food Handler's card while on property
  • execute proper health and safety protocols while operating equipment, handling food, storing food, maintaining temperature and time control logs, and sanitizing as dictated by SNHD
  • report health and safety incidents and concerns directly to leadership in an accurate and timely manner
  • contribute to successful SNHD health inspections
  • monitor and ensure cleanliness of all place settings, tabletops, seats, and floor
  • perform customer service duties as assigned such as beverage and plate service
  • communicate with cashier and servers for needs and any guest service issues
  • actively participate in all scheduled required training sessions
  • other duties as assigned
