The role of a Busser at XRG is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of the restaurant and ensuring guest satisfaction. The Busser is responsible for efficiently clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables before, during, and after service periods to optimize table turns and restaurant flow. This position supports food servers by assisting in all aspects of guest table service and maintaining cleanliness and stock of assigned areas and side stations. In this fast-paced and high-volume full-service restaurant environment, the Busser plays a crucial role in facilitating an enjoyable dining experience.

Busser duties include maintaining knowledge of table assignments, promptly addressing guest concerns, responding to spills and accidents immediately, and assisting with opening, running, and closing side work tasks. The position requires teamwork, effective communication, and a proactive attitude towards guest needs and restaurant operations. The physical demands include the ability to stand and walk for long periods, safely lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks with endurance and attention to safety protocols.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) years related experience
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • 18+ years of age
  • Possession of or the ability to possess all state required work cards
  • Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff, clients, and the public
  • Proper lifting techniques

Job Duties

  • Clear and reset tables efficiently before, during and after service periods to turn tables
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers and proper table set ups
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock of their assigned areas and side stations
  • Work as a team, assisting all guests' and team members' needs and inquiries
  • Ensure that all necessary stock is being replenished during the shift
  • Respond to guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints while maintaining a positive attitude escalating to management when necessary
  • Clean and dry spills immediately upon occurrence
  • never leaving spills unattended
  • Move furniture as directed by management, including but not limited to: tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, bar tables, boxes, and equipment
  • Ensure that any breakage is reported and recorded
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
  • Complete opening/running/closing side work duties as assigned
  • Assist teammates with opening/running/closing side work duties upon request
  • Assists and/or completes additional tasks as assigned
