Job Description
Maroon is a distinguished fine dining restaurant inspired by the rich heritage of the Jamaican Maroons, celebrated for their resilience, resourcefulness, and determination. Rooted in the tradition of jerk cooking, which itself emerged from survival, adaptation, and ingenuity, Maroon offers a unique culinary experience that honors this vibrant cultural story. Led by the renowned James Beard Award-winning American Chef Kwame Onwuachi, the restaurant showcases a bold and modern expression of Afro-Caribbean and West African-influenced cuisine. Chef Kwame is dedicated not only to providing exceptional food but also to creating spaces that empower communities, celebrate identity, and foster a meaningful connection between guests and the cultural narratives behind each dish.
At Maroon, the team embraces a guest-first philosophy that revolves around outstanding service, professionalism, and a team-oriented work environment. The role of Bus Person is pivotal in maintaining the smooth flow of the dining room operations and ensuring guests receive an impeccable dining experience. This position involves a variety of hospitality responsibilities centered on cleanliness, speed, efficiency, and careful attention to guest needs. From greeting guests with warmth and respect to maintaining the organization of tableware, the Bus Person supports the team by facilitating a seamless service that prioritizes guest comfort and satisfaction.
The Bus Person at Maroon must embody the spirit of teamwork, always putting the guest first and responding to their needs with a gracious "yes" and "thank you." Responsibilities include promptly greeting guests as they are seated, clearing used tableware between courses, resetting tables efficiently, and ensuring the dining area remains pristine and well-organized. The role also requires adherence to health and safety standards in compliance with Southern Nevada Health District codes. To thrive in this position, candidates need to be polished, professional, and dynamic, adept at multitasking in a fast-paced, VIP-driven dining environment.
Maroon values dedication and initiative, encouraging its Bus Persons to exceed expectations and contribute positively to every guest's memorable dining experience. Applicants should have at least six months of experience in a fine dining setting, a valid Nevada Food Handler Safety Training Card, and a hospitality-driven personality that reflects exceptional service standards. The establishment fosters a positive work culture where teamwork and respect for guests create an inviting atmosphere for both staff and guests alike.
