The Bus person at Gilley's plays an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of the dining area. This position is fundamental to ensuring that the dining room environment exceeds guest expectations through consistent sanitary upkeep and collaboration with Food Servers. The Bus person is responsible for clearing and resetting tables, replenishing supplies like clean plates, silverware, and condiments, and assisting with guest needs such as refilling beverages. This role requires an individual who is attentive, proactive, and able to manage the demands of a busy dining room while promoting a friendly, inviting atmosphere for guests. Within this role, the Bus person is empowered to handle routine guest interactions and minor disputes, always prioritizing excellent customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor.

The Bus person also contributes to maintaining the overall safety and order of the dining environment by ensuring floors are clean and free of debris, chairs and booths are sanitized, and lost and found items are promptly reported to management. Employees in this position must be physically fit as the role involves standing, walking, bending, lifting weights up to 50 pounds, and working efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Additional responsibilities include cross-training in other food and beverage areas, adhering to company policies, and supporting the team to deliver seamless service during high-volume periods.

Job Requirements

  • able to operate the following equipment: cash register, beverage guns, cutting boards, ice machines, knives, coffee machines, frozen drink machines, ice tea machines, and other necessary equipment

  • must be able to tolerate areas with secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust

Job Qualifications

  • must be at least 18 years of age or older and have the ability to obtain and retain KRGC Gaming License
  • one year of direct customer contact experience, preferred
  • mandatory testing on restaurant menu knowledge
  • this position requires all employees to wear black slip resistant shoes as part of their uniform

  • available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Job Duties

  • supplies the dining room and individual guest tables with clean plates, silverware, glassware, utensils, condiments, and paper supplies as needed
  • removes dirty dishes, soiled linens, glassware and silverware from table and counter tops, cleans table and counter tops according to procedure, then carries soiled items back to the dishwashing area
  • clean and sanitize chairs and booth cushions
  • refills water glasses and coffee upon request of guests
  • replenishes butter, condiments, coffee, tea and refrigerated items used in the dining room
  • resets the tables and performs other related duties as requested by Food Server
  • maintains clean and stocked workstation
