The role available is for a busser, a crucial position within the front-of-house team at Jalapeno Tree. A busser plays a key role in supporting servers and enhancing the overall guest experience by maintaining a clean and organized dining environment. In this position, you will be responsible for setting and resetting tables in accordance with restaurant standards, clearing used dishes, utensils, and glassware promptly to keep the dining area running smoothly, and assisting in replenishing supplies and organizing the service areas. Furthermore, the busser will assist with opening and closing duties, including trash disposal and cleaning tasks such as sweeping and mopping floors. Communication skills are essential, as you will be coordinating with the front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and a pleasant dining experience for guests. Physical stamina is important for this job due to the requirement to stand for prolonged periods, move quickly, bend, twist, and lift items up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, move at a rapid pace, bend, twist, and lift products weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent exposure to varying temperatures (cooler/freezer and kitchen area)

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Prior experience working in a restaurant preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Job Duties

  • Set and reset tables in accordance with restaurant standards
  • Clear used dishes, utensils, and glassware from tables and transport them to the kitchen
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including sweeping and mopping floors as needed
  • Replenish supplies and assist with stocking items in the service area
  • Read and comprehend labels on chemicals and material safety data sheets (MSDS)
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including trash disposal and organizing dining supplies
  • Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to ensure a smooth dining experience
