Located in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee, this esteemed restaurant is renowned for delivering an exceptional dining experience through a commitment to quality, service, and cleanliness. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff, the restaurant prides itself on maintaining a high standard of presentation and hygiene in all areas that guests encounter. The establishment operates in the food service industry, catering to a wide variety of patrons ranging from casual diners to large parties, ensuring each guest feels valued and satisfied throughout their visit.

The role of the Busser is integral to the overall dining experience, serving as the backbone of frontline service and cleanliness. Bussers at this restaurant are responsible for maintaining an inviting and clean environment for dining guests by keeping tables and surrounding areas spotless and well-prepared. The position plays a supportive role to the hosts and servers by ensuring efficient table turnover and prompt readiness for new guests, directly impacting the flow and quality of service provided. This full-time position offers an opportunity for individuals passionate about the food service industry to join a dynamic team and contribute meaningfully to customer satisfaction and operational success.

As a Busser, the individual will be involved in a variety of tasks including setting up service stations with polished flatware, plates, and glassware, removing soiled dishes between courses and after guests depart, and promptly cleaning table tops, chairs, and floor areas between seatings. The role demands a keen attention to detail and a commitment to teamwork as the Busser must communicate effectively with hosts and servers to maintain service efficiency and help with food delivery during peak periods. Furthermore, the Busser is expected to greet guests courteously, serve water, rolls, and butter, and ensure that dining room supplies such as china, silverware, and condiments are fully stocked and organized.

Safety and health compliance are paramount in this role, with the Busser adhering strictly to established health, sanitation, and safety procedures in alignment with OSHA, HAACP, and ServSafe guidelines. Proper handling and storage of kitchen equipment, use of personal protective equipment, and maintenance of clean and sanitized work areas are critical components of the job, underscoring the restaurant's dedication to guest safety and quality standards.

Contributing to a 100% customer satisfaction goal, the Busser will cultivate positive teamwork relations with front and back-of-house staff, assist with restocking equipment and supplies, and demonstrate thorough knowledge of the restaurant’s product offerings, menus, and promotions. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, excel in multitasking, and value the importance of courteous, professional interaction with both guests and colleagues. An ability to work under pressure and independently, while providing consistent and reliable service, is essential for success in this position.

Working conditions for this role include standing and fast-paced mobility throughout the shift, with frequent lifting of items up to 50 pounds and sometimes more. The Busser will transition between warm and cold environments such as dining floors and coolers and must be flexible to work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for long durations, use hands efficiently, and perform repetitive motions. The position demands alertness and safety awareness due to exposure to moving machinery, extreme temperatures, wet and humid conditions, and sanitation chemicals.
