Job Description

Cracker Barrel is a cherished restaurant and retail establishment known for its unique blend of Southern hospitality, delicious home-style cooking, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Since its founding in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown tremendously, now boasting over 70,000 team members nationwide, all dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences and a place where guests feel like family. The company takes pride in its roots and its mission to serve up more than just a meal — it serves up moments of joy, comfort, and genuine connection. With a reputation built on quality food, abundant servings, and a cozy atmosphere filled with unexpected finds, Cracker Barrel has become a place where people gather to reconnect and enjoy quality time with loved ones and friends.

At Cracker Barrel, the culture revolves around hospitality and teamwork, where every team member’s contribution is valued and celebrated. The company fosters a culture of belonging, support, and growth opportunities aimed at helping employees thrive both personally and professionally. From onboarding and training to recognition programs and employee events, there’s a strong emphasis on making sure every team member feels supported from day one. Whether working in the kitchen, dining room, or behind the scenes, each role contributes to a larger goal: making sure guests have an exceptional and welcoming experience every time they visit.

The Busser position at Cracker Barrel plays a crucial part in ensuring that every guest’s experience starts on a positive note. Bussers are key players in maintaining cleanliness and comfort in the dining space, setting the stage for memorable meals and special moments. This role goes beyond simply clearing tables; it involves actively contributing to a seamless and inviting environment where guests feel appreciated and valued. Working closely with other members of the dining room team, the busser helps maintain a smooth flow of service, ensuring that tables are reset quickly and efficiently for the next guests to enjoy. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who value teamwork, organization, and purposeful work, even without prior restaurant experience, as Cracker Barrel provides comprehensive training to help new employees succeed.

In addition to a welcoming work environment, Cracker Barrel offers a competitive pay range for bussers, from $16.00 to $17.25 per hour, alongside a host of benefits designed to support employee well-being. Employees have access to health insurance eligibility from day one for both full-time and part-time workers, vacation time, employee assistance programs, 401k plans with company matching, and an employee stock purchase program. The company also offers exclusive discounts on Cracker Barrel food and retail items, along with other perks such as travel and cell phone discounts. Busser team members are encouraged to grow their careers through continual training and development programs that begin on day one, including the industry-leading PAR training program.

Cracker Barrel prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace where qualified applicants are considered regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, national origin, age, marital status, medical condition, disability, or any other protected class. Joining Cracker Barrel means becoming part of a team that values hard work, hospitality, and the small moments that create the biggest impacts, truly making it a place where everyone is 'in good company.'
