Job Description

Cracker Barrel is a well-established American restaurant and retail chain known for its Southern country theme, home-style cooking, and warm hospitality. Founded in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown to become a beloved gathering place for guests across the United States, offering more than just meals—it offers memorable experiences and a welcoming atmosphere where people can reconnect and feel at home. With over 70,000 team members nationwide, Cracker Barrel emphasizes pride in its roots and a strong company culture that values teamwork, respect, and making meaningful connections. The company’s mission goes beyond serving delicious food; it cultivates an environment where every team member plays a key role in creating positive moments for guests and each other.

This position is for the role of Busser, an essential part of the dining room team dedicated to ensuring a clean, comfortable, and inviting environment for every guest. As a Busser at Cracker Barrel, you will be responsible for setting the stage for a fantastic dining experience by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the dining area. This role is pivotal in helping the restaurant run smoothly, as it involves quickly clearing and resetting tables between guests, assisting servers and other team members, and generally helping to maintain the flow of service. The work means more than just cleaning tables; it means creating the foundation for warm hospitality, teamwork, and memorable customer experiences that guests will remember long after their visit.

At Cracker Barrel, you don’t need prior restaurant experience to succeed in this role — comprehensive training is provided to equip you with the necessary skills. You’ll find yourself in a workplace that values a team-first mindset, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to spotting what needs to be done and stepping in to help.

Cracker Barrel offers competitive pay, with weekly paychecks and same-day pay access options to support financial well-being. Additionally, both full-time and part-time employees are eligible for health insurance from their very first day of employment. The company also provides paid vacation time, access to an employee assistance program (EAP), and extensive opportunities for personal and professional growth. Employees can benefit from the PAR training program, which starts on day one, helping you to develop and advance your career. At 90 days, you become eligible for a 401(k) plan with company matching contributions, as well as the Employee Stock Purchase Program.

The culture at Cracker Barrel fosters a genuine sense of belonging right from the start. The onboarding, training, and ongoing development programs are designed to help you thrive. Employees enjoy recognition programs and special events that build camaraderie and celebrate contributions. Perks include a 35 percent discount on food and retail items at Cracker Barrel, as well as exclusive bonuses such as discounts on home goods, travel, cell phones, and more.

Join Cracker Barrel’s team as a Busser and be part of a company deeply committed to community, quality service, and opportunities for growth, where every member helps make the moment for guests and creates a workplace you can be proud of.
