Job Description
Thrive Restaurant Group is a family-owned restaurant company that has been a cornerstone in the foodservice industry for over 50 years. Known for its commitment to quality, community, and culture, Thrive has built a strong reputation by fostering a supportive, family-oriented workplace where employees are considered part of the extended family. Specializing in the casual dining sector, the group operates well-loved national restaurant brands, including Applebee's, under the umbrella of Legacy Apple. This brand identity emphasizes being not just a great place to eat, but an integral and positive presence in the neighborhoods it serves. Thrive Restaurant Group prioritizes social responsibility and community engagement, having contributed more than $5 million toward local initiatives such as helping fund high school events and supporting children facing cancer. These efforts reflect the company’s core value: "Be a Good Neighbor."
The role of Busser at Thrive Restaurant Group, specifically within the Applebee's brand, serves as a crucial element in delivering an exceptional dining experience to guests. As a Busser, you will be the frontline team member responsible for ensuring that dining areas are clean, welcoming, and well-maintained. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing skills in hospitality, customer service, and restaurant operations within a fun and supportive environment. The Busser position is ideal for candidates eager to learn about the restaurant business, enhance leadership abilities, and contribute meaningfully to a thriving team atmosphere. Employment in this role may include earning the tip credit minimum wage plus tips, with pay varying based on availability and shift hours.
In this position, a typical day involves maintaining cleanliness and readiness of tables and dining areas by clearing and resetting tables efficiently and promptly. Bussed tables help create a positive impression on guests by providing a clean and inviting dining environment that encourages repeat visits. The role also involves assisting servers by helping with food delivery, restocking service stations, and ensuring that table condiments such as salt and pepper are replenished consistently. Bussers play a hands-on role in maintaining cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors and chairs near dining areas to ensure a hygienic and pleasant atmosphere. This role demands physical stamina and mobility, as it requires moving, lifting, and transporting dishware frequently throughout a shift. Attention to detail is important to guarantee cleanliness standards are met, such as wiping down table tops, legs, and booth seats.
Thrive Restaurant Group values team members who bring a positive attitude and a genuine desire to care for others. The Busser position provides a pathway for growth within the company, offering opportunities to develop interpersonal skills, learn about operational aspects of the restaurant business, and potentially advance into higher roles in hospitality and management. Thrive supports its employees by fostering a friendly and inclusive work environment that encourages learning and professional development. Overall, this role is designed for individuals who want to contribute to creating memorable dining experiences while working in a vibrant and community-focused setting.
