This role offers an hourly wage and is based at the Monterey Beach Hotel in Monterey, California.
The Busser position at Monterey Beach Hotel plays a critical role in supporting the service team to ensure guests receive top-tier service during their dining experience. The Busser is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within the dining areas throughout all hours of operation. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, as it involves keeping tables clean and properly set with fresh china, glassware, silverware, and linens to create an inviting atmosphere for guests. The Busser assists servers by delivering and refilling beverages, pre-bussing tables, and addressing any guest requests promptly, ensuring a seamless dining experience. Additionally, the role involves performing daily opening and closing duties, completing side-work checklists, and remaining flexible to step in and serve guests in the server's absence when needed. Physical stamina is important for this role, as it requires standing for entire shifts and occasionally lifting heavy objects. This position is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about hospitality, capable of working flexible and extended hours, and dedicated to upholding the highest standards of service and cleanliness.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous restaurant or hotel experience preferred
- ability to stand and move for extended periods
- capable of lifting and carrying heavy items up to 100 pounds
- flexible availability including evenings and weekends
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitary standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
- previous restaurant experience encouraged
- ability to stand during entire shift
- flexible and long hours sometimes required
- heavy work - exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Job Duties
- Keep all work areas clean and properly stocked according to the current meal period
- keep all tables cleaned and properly set according to property specific standards
- break down trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dish room area according to established standards
- assist servers by delivering and refilling beverages, pre-bussing tables, and promptly resolving any guest requests
- complete daily opening and closing duties and cleaning according to established side-work checklist
- provide service to guests in waiter’s absence as needed
- maintain beverage levels in glasses/cups on table at least three quarters full at all times (coffee, tea, soda, lemonade, and water)
