Job Description

Out West Restaurant Group stands as the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse in the United States, embodying a rich tradition in the American dining landscape since Outback Steakhouse's inception in March 1988. With a unique Australian-themed restaurant concept, Outback Steakhouse combines the serious craft of food preparation with a fun and welcoming environment. The company's philosophy revolves around treating both customers and employees, known as "Outbackers," with respect and care — capturing a culture that values camaraderie, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Out West Restaurant Group is well-regarded for fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated and all employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any protected status. The group draws recognition not only for its service excellence but also for its involvement in vital community support initiatives and charitable contributions. It has been ranked in the Top 50 franchisees in the U.S. for four consecutive years by the Monitor 200 Award and earned the 2022 International Franchise Association's Franchisee of the Year Award for exemplary local community service. Their commitment to their employees is evident in providing comprehensive health insurance options including medical, dental, and vision coverage for eligible employees, as well as paid sick leave in accordance with California laws. They also offer growth opportunities through programs such as the Shift Leader training initiative, a flexible schedule, meal discounts, and thoughtful benefits like company-sponsored employee assistance programs. The extensive training and employee-centric approach create an environment that nurtures career advancement and personal growth. This particular role is an hourly, non-exempt position with compensation at $16.90 per hour plus tips, offering a fantastic entry point for candidates passionate about hospitality and eager to be part of a renowned dining experience. The position involves collaborating with the entire team to ensure that the guest experience is smooth and enjoyable by bussing, cleaning, and resetting tables while maintaining high cleanliness and sanitation standards. Candidates will also engage customers by having knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, handling phone communications professionally, and supporting various restaurant functions as needs arise. Working as an Outbacker means embracing teamwork, contributing to a hospitable atmosphere, and upholding safety and compliance protocols to ensure both customer satisfaction and employee well-being. This role provides an excellent foundation for those seeking to grow their career in the restaurant industry within a company that values fun, respect, and business success in equal measure.
