Job Description
C. Baldwin Houston is a distinguished hotel that honors the legacy of Charlotte Baldwin Allen, a pioneering woman recognized as the 'Mother of Houston.' Taking inspiration from her a story, the hotel pays tribute to her role as a businesswoman, cattle rancher, philanthropist, and trailblazer in 19th century Texas. The hotel is part of Sage Hospitality Group, a company that values excellence, genuine service, and positive community impact. Sage Hospitality Group is well known for fostering an environment where entrepreneurial spirit and creativity can thrive, encouraging employees to break conventional molds and forge their own paths. This approachable yet innovative culture makes C. Baldwin Houston a unique employer for independent thinkers and risk takers.
The hotel itself is a stunning 354-room establishment located in Houston, featuring 14,000 square feet of meeting space, a hidden speakeasy, a local grab-and-go concept called Good2GO, and abundant green space. These amenities combine to create a dynamic and inviting environment for guests and employees alike. The hotel celebrates Texas women’s trailblazing spirit and strives to enrich the lives of both guests and team members. Working at C. Baldwin Houston means joining a team dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences through impeccable service and community engagement.
The current opening is for a full-time Busser position. This role is crucial in maintaining a clean, efficient, and welcoming atmosphere in the hotel’s dining areas. The Busser’s primary responsibility is to clear used tableware, napkins, and refuse from tables to designated tubs, wipe tables and chairs, and remove debris and crumbs from the surrounding floor areas. Additionally, bussers reset tables swiftly and according to established standards to ensure new customers can be seated promptly. This supports both the flow of service and the overall guest experience. The position also involves maintaining the bus stations by removing full tubs to the dishwashing area, keeping the area clean and well-stocked for improved productivity.
Beyond these duties, the Busser retrieves cleaned dishes, glassware, and utensils and distributes them to service stations to keep supplies ready for restaurant use. They continuously sweep restaurant floors to maintain cleanliness and order. Stockroom retrieval duties are also part of the role, ensuring requisitions are complete, and supplies are restocked appropriately with stock rotation. Assisting waitstaff by refilling beverages, responding to additional condiment or food requests, and maintaining ice stations are further responsibilities. The role requires a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times, contributing to a positive dining environment. Overall, the Busser supports the smooth operation of the dining experience and ensures guests enjoy a comfortable and pleasant visit. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to join a pioneering hotel that values both the heritage of Houston and the spirit of its employees.
