Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a beloved American restaurant and gift store chain known for its unique blend of Southern country charm and hospitality. Since its founding in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown into a trusted and cherished destination for millions of guests nationwide. The company prides itself on providing not just delicious home-style meals and abundant servings but also a warm, welcoming environment where people can gather, reconnect, and create memories. With over 70,000 team members, Cracker Barrel represents a culture deeply rooted in tradition, community, and mutual respect, offering an inviting atmosphere that feels like home to guests and employees alike.
At Cracker Barrel, the focus goes beyond food service; it is about the moments that matter in life and work. The company emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and a strong sense of belonging, making every employee an essential part of the overall experience. They invest in their team members through comprehensive training, appealing benefits, and opportunities for growth, recognizing that their people are their greatest asset.
The Busser role at Cracker Barrel is a vital position within the dining room team that sets the stage for each guest’s dining experience. As a Busser, you are more than simply someone who clears and resets tables; you are a hospitality ambassador who helps maintain a clean and comfortable environment where guests feel welcomed and cared for. This is the first step to creating memorable dining experiences that guests cherish long after they leave.
This role is perfect for individuals who take pride in contributing to a positive team atmosphere, who have great observational skills and can anticipate the needs of guests and team members, and who approach each task with enthusiasm and a sense of purpose. The Busser works closely with servers and other dining staff to maintain the flow of service, ensuring the dining area remains inviting and well-prepared at all times. Even if you have no prior restaurant experience, Cracker Barrel provides the training and support necessary to get you up to speed and thriving from day one.
In addition to delivering excellent hospitality, Cracker Barrel values work-life balance and employee wellbeing. The company offers competitive pay with weekly and same-day payment options, health insurance eligibility starting on the very first day for both full-time and part-time employees, vacation time, an employee assistance program, and many growth opportunities including a renowned training program, 401k with company matching, and stock purchase opportunities. The workplace culture fosters a sense of belonging through ongoing onboarding, training, employee recognition programs, and special events that help build camaraderie.
Cracker Barrel also extends unique perks such as a 35 percent discount on food and retail items and exclusive discounts on home, travel, and technology services. With such an inclusive, supportive environment and a deep commitment to excellence, Cracker Barrel invites candidates who are ready to join a team that values every contribution and aims to make every moment meaningful - literally making the moment one of hospitality, warmth, and joy.
