Job Description
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is a renowned restaurant and retail chain that has been a beloved gathering place since 1969. Known for its comforting Southern cuisine, warm hospitality, and unique retail offerings, Cracker Barrel combines the charm of a country store with the allure of a welcoming restaurant environment. The company has grown to employ over 70,000 team members nationwide, all dedicated to creating memorable experiences for guests while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Cracker Barrel values teamwork, pride in one's work, and the importance of community both inside and outside the restaurant.
The role of a Busser at Cracker Barrel is integral to maintaining the high standards of hospitality and cleanliness that define the guest experience. Bussers ensure that every dining area is clean, comfortable, and welcoming, setting the stage for memorable meals and exceptional service. While the role involves clearing and resetting tables, it extends beyond these tasks to include supporting the dining room team in delivering seamless service. Working closely with servers and other front-of-house staff, Bussers help maintain a smooth flow throughout meal service, contributing directly to guest satisfaction.
This position is well-suited for individuals who are proactive, organized, and team-oriented. Cracker Barrel values those who spot what needs doing and enthusiastically jump in to assist, take pride in improving the experience for both guests and team members, and move with purpose to keep operations running efficiently. No prior restaurant experience is necessary, as comprehensive training is provided through Cracker Barrel's industry-leading PAR (Prepare-Achieve-Respect) training program, which begins on the first day and supports growth and development within the company.
In terms of employment conditions, Cracker Barrel offers both full and part-time busser positions with competitive pay provided weekly, along with same-day pay access. Employees begin to receive health insurance eligibility from day one, along with vacation time and an employee assistance program that supports mental and emotional well-being. Beyond the essential perks, team members have access to growth opportunities, a 401k plan with company matching after 90 days, and an employee stock purchase program, allowing staff to invest in the company's success.
Cracker Barrel emphasizes a culture of belonging and continuous support, featuring onboarding, training, development, recognition programs, and employee events designed to foster connection and appreciation among colleagues. Additional benefits include a generous 35 percent discount on Cracker Barrel food and retail items, as well as exclusive offers through their Biscuit Perks program, which features discounts on home goods, travel, cell phones, and more.
As an equal opportunity employer, Cracker Barrel commits to fair hiring practices without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, national origin, age, marital status, medical condition, disability, or other protected status. Joining Cracker Barrel as a Busser means becoming part of a community that values teamwork, respect, and making every moment count. Candidates seeking a role in a dynamic, friendly, and growth-oriented company will find that Cracker Barrel provides the right environment to thrive both personally and professionally.
