The role of a busser at Jalapeno Tree is integral to the smooth operation of the restaurant and the satisfaction of its guests. As a member of the Pepper Posse, bussers support servers by maintaining clean and organized dining areas, ensuring tables are set and reset according to the restaurant's standards, and promptly clearing used dishes, utensils, and glassware. The busser helps maintain the overall cleanliness of the restaurant by assisting with sweeping, mopping, and stocking service areas. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, move at a rapid pace, bend, twist, and lift products weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent exposure to varying temperatures (cooler/freezer and kitchen area)

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Prior experience working in a restaurant preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Job Duties

  • Set and reset tables in accordance with restaurant standards
  • Clear used dishes, utensils, and glassware from tables and transport them to the kitchen
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including sweeping and mopping floors as needed
  • Replenish supplies and assist with stocking items in the service area
  • Read and comprehend labels on chemicals and material safety data sheets (MSDS)
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including trash disposal and organizing dining supplies
  • Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to ensure a smooth dining experience
