Job Description
This job opportunity is with a well-established dining establishment that prides itself on providing exceptional service and a clean, welcoming environment for guests. The company operates in the hospitality and foodservice industry, focusing on delivering high-quality dining experiences through attentive customer service and meticulous attention to restaurant cleanliness and preparation. Known for maintaining high standards in both food quality and customer care, the establishment values employees who are reliable, detail-oriented, and dedicated to supporting the smooth operation of the dining area.
The role offered is a Dining Room Busser position, an essential part of the front-of-house team that ensures dining guests have a pleasant and comfortable experience. Bussers play a key role in setting up and maintaining the dining area before, during, and after meal service. They work collaboratively with wait staff, kitchen personnel, and management to uphold cleanliness standards and efficient service flow. The employment is likely part-time or full-time within traditional restaurant operating hours, and the position offers the opportunity to gain experience in the hospitality industry, build teamwork skills, and develop an understanding of restaurant operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for diligently cleaning and setting tables, assisting servers by clearing plates, refilling drinks, running food to guests, and resetting the dining space to ensure continuous guest satisfaction. Additional responsibilities include managing member stations stocked with coffee, tea, water, cream, and lemons, preparing butter bowls, handling bread warmers loaded with rolls and muffins, and overseeing soup warmers for service. Maintenance of the dining environment involves vacuuming floors, sweeping and mopping hallways, cleaning microwaves, and ensuring trash cans are appropriately lined and placed.
The Busser also has duties involving inventory management at the server hallway where service racks with plates, chips, nuts, glasses, condiments, to-go boxes, and plasticware are kept organized and well-stocked. The role involves careful handling of leftover food, cleaning refrigerators, and maintaining safety and certification requirements such as TABC and Food Handler certifications. There is an expectation for the Busser to be punctual, appear in proper uniform, and coordinate with the Manager on Duty to ensure seamless shift transitions.
This position is vital for creating a positive dining atmosphere, supporting the efforts of wait staff, and upholding the establishment’s standards of hygiene and service efficiency. Individuals with a keen eye for detail, a proactive attitude, and strong communication skills will thrive in this environment and contribute to the restaurant’s overall success.
