Job Description
First Watch is a highly acclaimed daytime dining restaurant chain focused on serving fresh, made-to-order breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes. With over 530 locations across 29 states, First Watch has become a trusted name in casual dining by offering a chef-curated menu featuring elevated versions of classic favorites as well as unique specialties such as the Quinoa Power Bowl, Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos, Avocado Toast, Chickichanga, Morning Meditation juices made in-house daily, Spiked Lavender Lemonade, and their signature Million Dollar Bacon. The brand prides itself on local recognition, having earned numerous "Best Breakfast" and "Best Brunch" awards, along with being recognized as the top restaurant brand in Yelp's inaugural list of the 50 most loved brands in the U.S. and a Top 100 Most Loved Workplace in Newsweek's annual ranking. The company's commitment to excellence extends beyond the dining experience to workplace culture, where it champions a YOU FIRST philosophy that puts employee satisfaction front and center.
First Watch offers a positive work environment that includes no night shifts ever, providing employees with a great work-life balance. The culture empowers employees with the independence to make customer-focused decisions that elevate the guest experience. Employees are valued and supported through generous benefits, development opportunities, and a supportive atmosphere that embraces teamwork and recognition. This holistic approach ensures that the team remains motivated to deliver exceptional service and maintain high standards for dining enjoyment.
The role of the First Watch Busser is an essential, fast-paced, and dynamic position within the restaurant. Bussers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and resetting tables quickly—within 3 minutes—to keep the dining flow smooth and efficient. Equipped with a spray bottle, tray, and cloth towel, the Busser performs magician-like moves to clear and sanitize tables while also communicating silently with Hosts to signal table readiness. The role involves collaboration and communication with Hosts and Servers to facilitate efficient seating and service operations. Key responsibilities include clear, clean, and sanitize tables, perform light housekeeping duties such as rolling silverware and maintaining restroom cleanliness, and assist in creating a seamless dining experience for guests. The position is a vital link in ensuring the restaurant maintains its high standards of cleanliness, service speed, and overall guest satisfaction.
First Watch strongly believes in teamwork, clear communication, and employee empowerment. Bussers are key team players who help uphold the brand’s reputation as a friendly, clean, and efficient daytime dining destination. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities. Full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits that include health insurance, dental and vision coverage, telemedicine access, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) retirement program, meal discounts, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and much more.
If you have a passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and a desire to work in a supportive environment that values your contributions, the First Watch Busser position offers an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning team dedicated to delivering exceptional daytime dining experiences. This role is perfect for individuals aged 18 and over who thrive in collaborative, fast-paced settings and enjoy making a positive impact behind the scenes.
