Job Description

Baja Billy's Mexican Cantina is a vibrant and authentic Mexican restaurant known for offering a dynamic dining experience that blends delicious cuisine with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Located within the Full House Resorts group, Baja Billy's Mexican Cantina prides itself on delivering excellent customer service and high-quality food in a lively setting. Full House Resorts itself is a respected hospitality company offering not only dining options but also gaming, entertainment, and resort amenities, creating a multifaceted experience for visitors and locals alike. Employees at Baja Billy's benefit from a supportive work environment that values teamwork, hospitality, and dedication to customer satisfaction. As a part of a larger parent company, the restaurant offers stable employment with opportunities for growth and development. The employment type for this role is full-time with a base salary starting at $16.00 per hour, with the precise amount depending on the candidate's experience and skills.

The role of Bus Person at Baja Billy's Mexican Cantina is vital in maintaining the seamless operation of the restaurant’s front-of-house service. A Bus Person’s primary responsibility is ensuring that the dining area is clean, orderly, and efficient to improve the overall guest experience. Individuals in this position are tasked with clearing tables of used dishes, utensils, and trash, efficiently resetting tables for incoming guests, and promptly providing support to waitstaff by refilling water glasses, replacing used utensils, and offering necessary condiments. The position requires strong collaboration skills to foster effective communication between the kitchen staff and waitstaff, enabling a smooth flow of operations.

The Bus Person plays a critical role in upholding the restaurant's sanitation and safety standards by adhering closely to health codes and internal policies. This is essential for creating a secure work environment and a welcoming space for guests. The job includes assisting with general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting, which helps maintain an inviting atmosphere throughout the dining area. Due to the fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding nature of the work, the ideal candidate must be capable of physical exertion, including brisk walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is a crucial part of this role, as busier periods require additional support and teamwork. The Bus Person must also maintain a professional appearance by wearing all required uniforms properly, including a nametag and gaming license if applicable. Additionally, reliable and punctual attendance is fundamental to ensure the smooth running of daily operations. The position offers more than just hourly compensation; it includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, a flexible spending account, and a 401k retirement plan with employer matching after one year of service. Employees also enjoy paid time off, paid transportation from nearby areas, free local gym membership, tuition reimbursement, and resort perks, making it a rewarding career choice within the hospitality industry.

This multitude of responsibilities and benefits positions the Bus Person role as essential to Baja Billy's continued success in providing exceptional dining experiences that keep guests returning. Ideal candidates for this position bring a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, a team-oriented mindset, and an ability to thrive in a busy culinary environment. This role not only supports the waitstaff and kitchen team to deliver timely service but also directly contributes to the comfort and satisfaction of every guest who walks through the doors of Baja Billy's Mexican Cantina.
