Job Description

This job opportunity is with a reputable restaurant known for its quality service and commitment to customer satisfaction. The establishment prides itself on creating a welcoming and organized environment where both guests and staff feel valued. As a part of a cohesive team, the restaurant emphasizes collaboration and efficiency, ensuring that every detail in the dining experience is attended to with care and professionalism. Through consistent training and a supportive work culture, the restaurant aims to maintain high standards in cleanliness, organization, and guest interaction. The establishment values dedicated individuals who can contribute to creating a seamless dining experience and are willing to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

The role of the Busser is an essential part of ensuring smooth operations in the restaurant. The Busser works cooperatively with various staff members including the manager, host, servers, cooks, dishwasher, and fellow bussers. This position requires a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail as bussers are responsible for clearing tables promptly after guests leave, resetting tables for incoming customers, and maintaining the cleanliness of the front-of-house areas. The Busser ensures that service stations are regularly restocked with necessary items such as plates, silverware, and glasses throughout their shift.

In addition to clearing and cleaning tables, bussers greet customers, set up tables with silverware, napkins, water, and coffee if not already arranged by servers or hosts, and inspect all silverware and glassware before serving. This role may also involve restocking high chairs or booster seats upon request, washing dishes when needed, and performing detailed cleaning duties in various parts of the restaurant including the dining room, restrooms, lobby, parking lot, and kitchen service areas. Bussers help maintain a sanitary and pleasant environment for both staff and guests by following safety precautions and performing assigned cleaning tasks, which can include wiping down walls, dusting, and floor care.

The Busser also assists other bussers by helping clear and reset tables beyond their assigned section when needed and supports the dish room operations by transporting bus pans and clean dishes back and forth. This role requires physical stamina as the job involves standing, walking, handling dishes, bending, stooping, and occasionally carrying cleaning equipment such as mops and ladders. The restaurant values individuals capable of following instructions, communicating effectively in English, and applying common sense to routine tasks.

Employment for this role requires availability to work weekends and holidays, reflecting the restaurant’s need for reliable staffing during peak times. This position offers an opportunity for growth within the restaurant for those who demonstrate dedication and teamwork. Employee benefits include meal discounts, flexible scheduling, paid time off, 401k plans, and overall career advancement prospects. Previous busser experience is a plus but not required, making this an entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to start or continue their career in the hospitality industry.
