Job Requirements
- Must be 19 years of age or older to serve alcohol
- Must be able to change keg beer lifting up to 100 lbs
- Ability to carry multiple drinks at once
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English
- Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate
- Required memorization of all table numbers
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
- Physical ability to perform bartending duties confidently
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years of bartending experience
- Bartending certificate
- TIPS or similar certification
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and high-volume service
- High level of knowledge for spirits, beer and wine
- Ability to recite popular liquors and create new drinks
- Basic mathematical skills for operating cash register and handling transactions
- Basic English language communication and writing skills
- Manual dexterity for bartending tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests in English
- Ability to memorize and promote a variety of menu items
- Ability to operate point of sale systems
- Ability to stand and work long periods in confined spaces
Job Duties
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce based on daily projections
- Maintain stock, cut and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner and promote and document orders for drinks
- Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practice prudent portion control
- Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create checks for each guest including those served by other servers to maintain accountability
- Maintain glassware inventory and ensure cleanliness
- Maintain condition and cleanliness of bar and guest areas throughout shift
- Assist and provide service to guests at the bar
- Assist with service of tables if needed
- Receive cash from guests, make change, verify validity of charges, record charges and ensure vouchers are properly executed
- Maintain service bar for servers
- Lock up and store all beverages, food, and equipment items and secure cash deposits
- Perform general cleaning tasks as assigned to adhere to health standards
- Adhere to all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcohol
- Perform other duties such as handling special guest requests and assisting security with disorderly guests
