Job Description

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a leading supplier in the United States of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as hardgoods and related products. It stands out as one of the largest U.S. providers of safety products and a prominent supplier of ammonia products and process chemicals. With a dedicated workforce of approximately 18,000 associates, Airgas fosters a culture rooted in safety, innovation, sustainability, and customer success. Through its affiliation with Air Liquide—a global leader operating in 60 countries with about 66,500 employees—Airgas benefits from expansive resources and expertise to provide unparalleled service to more than four million customers and patients. The company emphasizes diversity and inclusion, believing that a diverse team strengthens innovation and creates a more engaging and successful work environment.

The Bulk Driver role in Waxahachie, TX, plays a vital part in Airgas’s operations, particularly in ammonia production and filling. This position offers a competitive compensation package with pay ranging between $90,000 to $100,000 annually, reflecting dedication and including opportunities for overtime and double time on Sundays and holidays. The role supports a flexible schedule, requiring availability for shifts beginning at midnight or 8 am and covering all seven days of the week. Occasionally, an overnight stay is expected, on average once a month to support team operations.

As a Bulk Driver, the incumbent is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of ammonia products to local customers either on scheduled routes or intermittently. They are tasked with maintaining accurate records through load manifests and securing customer signatures to confirm receipt. The role requires excellent communication skills to address customer inquiries and align on safety protocols (SOPs). Drivers collaboratively manage loading and unloading procedures and conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety and vehicle integrity. Maintaining a neat, professional appearance and upholding vehicle cleanliness is also essential to represent the company's values.

Airgas employs a modern fleet equipped with advanced driver-friendly technologies such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance systems, and state-of-the-art camera technology to enhance safety and efficiency. The Bulk Driver must be skilled in handling hazardous cargo, particularly anhydrous ammonia, and strictly follow safety procedures to protect themselves, their team, customers, and the wider community. Physical demands include frequent bending and the ability to lift 60 pounds or more, emphasizing the role’s hands-on nature.

The position requires a Class A CDL with Tanker, Hazmat, and Airbrake endorsements, and the hazmat certification is mandatory. Experience requirements include at least two years of CDL A driving within the last four years, with a clean safety record including no preventable accidents or serious violations in the past three years. This role offers comprehensive benefits after just 30 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid parental leave, vacation, sick time, paid holidays, employee assistance programs, and tuition assistance.

Joining Airgas means becoming part of a company that values employee contributions, fosters growth and development, and is committed to equality and diversity in the workplace. The Bulk Driver role is a critical function that contributes directly to customer satisfaction and operational excellence while offering career growth within a supportive and innovative environment.
