Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous technical experience related to heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems
  • skill in working with electricity
  • ability to make independent decisions
  • ability to convey technical information clearly
  • possession of a valid Mechanical Journeyman (Refrigeration) License
  • possession of a valid Driver License (Operator)
  • ability to work third shift including weekends
  • successful completion of TSA background check including fingerprinting
  • physical ability to lift up to 125 lbs with assistance
  • flexibility and mobility to work in various strenuous conditions
  • effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • possession of a valid Mechanical Journeyman (Refrigeration) License
  • possession of a valid Driver License (Operator)
  • knowledge of calibration procedures
  • knowledge of proper charging procedures for all types of air conditioning equipment (low, medium and high temperature)
  • knowledge of operation of air conditioning and heating systems
  • knowledge of refrigeration tools, gauges and work aids
  • skill in reading and interpreting building blueprints or schematics
  • skill in diagnosing equipment malfunctions
  • skill in maintaining/repairing air conditioning and heating systems
  • skill in working with electricity
  • skill in supervising
  • ability to install new heating, air or ventilating systems
  • ability to record and interpret written information

Job Duties

  • performing tasks related to installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems
  • conducting inspections to determine proper operation of equipment and needed preventative maintenance
  • making calibrations on a wide variety of complex equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts, units of equipment, or complete systems
  • maintaining and repairing building and facilities maintenance with little supervision
  • reading and interpreting building blueprints or schematics
  • diagnosing equipment malfunctions
  • conveying technical requirements for equipment maintenance to supervisor and co-workers
